The wand is the most misunderstood thing we sell. It's also, by a wide margin, the most powerful, which turns out to be the same fact viewed from two directions.
Most people who bounce off a wand do it in the first ninety seconds. They turn it on at full strength, press it straight where they think it should go, find it overwhelming or numbing, and quietly decide wands aren't for them. That's a settings problem, not a compatibility problem.
What a wand actually is
A broad, rounded head on a handle, built to deliver deep, rumbly vibration across a wide surface rather than a precise point. That difference matters more than the size does.
Most small vibrators produce a buzzy, surface-level vibration. Wands produce something lower and deeper that carries into the tissue underneath. It's why they have a reputation, and why people who find bullets underwhelming often get on with wands immediately.
The classic ones were sold for decades as back and shoulder massagers, which was always a wink and is also genuinely true. They work on a stiff neck. That is not the primary use case in this store, but it's a real bonus and it makes them easy to leave in a drawer.
The three things that fix "too intense"
1. Use it through fabric. The single best trick, and almost nobody is told it. Underwear, a bedsheet, a t-shirt. It softens the intensity to something usable without changing the depth of the vibration. Start there and remove layers as you want more, rather than starting at skin and flinching.
2. Stay off the exact spot. Wands are broad-surface tools, so use them that way. Resting the head nearby, on the mound or to one side, is often better than direct contact, which is the thing that goes numb. Indirect is not a lesser version. For a lot of people it's the whole point.
3. Start on the lowest setting and leave it there longer than feels productive. Deep vibration builds slowly. Jumping to maximum in the first minute is how you end up desensitized ten minutes in with nowhere left to go.
If it goes numb: stop, take a break of a couple of minutes, and come back a setting lower. Numbness means too much, not not-enough.
Corded or rechargeable
Corded wands are the traditional ones and they're still the most powerful, because a wall socket beats a battery every time. The trade is obvious: you're tethered to an outlet.
Rechargeable wands have closed most of that gap and are what most people should buy now. Unless you specifically want the absolute ceiling of power, cordless is the easier toy to actually use.

Care, briefly
Most wand heads are silicone, which is non-porous and easy to keep clean. The bodies are usually not waterproof, so wipe rather than submerge unless the box specifically says otherwise. The takeaway
