Open with the feather, dragging it slowly across skin, then turn it over. That contrast does far more than either end used on its own. Keep strikes to the backside and thighs, clear of the spine, kidneys, tailbone and neck, and build up rather than starting hard. Shake the feather out and hang it so it does not crease, and wipe the crop end down after a session. Check the crop end for splits from time to time, which is the only part that wears. The feather works alone if the evening stays at the teasing end rather than going further.
