Warm it in your hands or in a bowl of warm water first, or chill it if that appeals, since temperature play is most of the reason to own glass. Any lubricant works, which is unusual and useful. The flower sculpt gives texture rather than size. Wash it with warm water and mild soap, and store it somewhere it will not knock against anything hard, because annealed glass is strong but not indestructible. Check it over for chips every so often, which takes ten seconds and is the only maintenance glass ever needs.

Silicone is soft and forgiving. Glass is the opposite and that is the point: it transmits pressure exactly, it takes temperature, and it is hygienically superior to every porous material in the shop.
