A drinking card game built on twenty one, which is a mechanic everyone at the table already understands. No rulebook to read aloud is a genuine advantage at the point in an evening when these come out.
Read the cards through once before the guests arrive so somebody in the room knows how it runs. It plays with a group rather than a couple and scales up rather than down. Nothing in the box requires alcohol to work, which is worth knowing for a mixed room. Keep the deck complete in its box between parties, since a card game missing three cards stops being a card game. It also makes an easy gift for whoever is hosting, since it needs nothing else on the table. Four or more players is where a card game like this actually works.
Most party games ask everyone to learn a new system while they are already three drinks in. Building one on a game people know means it starts working from the first hand rather than the fourth.
