The Rachel set does the two hardest things at once: a proper lace thigh high and a garter belt that crosses at the back, sold together so the lace actually matches. In red or in black, and the red is the one that gets noticed.

A crossover back gives the belt a second look from behind and spreads the pull across the waist rather than at one point. Put the belt on over the panty, not under it, clip the front straps before the back, and set the strap length once so the stocking tops sit level. Hand wash both pieces in cool water, wash the red separately for the first few wears, and lay flat to dry.

Buying a belt and stockings apart means two different laces and two different blacks. A matched two piece removes the guesswork, and a crossover belt is a noticeably better build than the flat single strap version.
