Wear them with a black dress, a black bodysuit, or shorts and a tee, and the whole look reads skeleton with no makeup involved. Add white face paint and it goes considerably further. They also do quiet work under a witch or vampire look, where a flash of bone at the knee is all the extra detail a costume needs. Toe to waist means there is no band to keep pulling up over the course of a night. Hand wash them cold, hang them to dry, and put them on gently from the toe upward, since printed knit hosiery pulls if you drag it from the waist.

Skeleton makeup takes forty minutes and a packet of remover wipes. This takes about fifteen seconds, comes off just as fast at the end of the night, and still photographs as a proper costume.
