Not every backseam is a plain line. On these the seam is drawn as a sword, running up the back of the leg from the heel, which turns a vintage detail into something with a great deal more edge to it.

Anything with a graphic up the back of the leg needs to be seen from behind, so pair these with a short hem, a slit or a mini and think about the view as you walk away. They work with heavy boots as readily as with a heel, and they carry a gothic or fantasy costume build without needing much else added. Roll them on from the toe, hand wash in cool water, and lay them flat to dry.
