New to wax play? Start here. Lay down a towel or tarp as a splash zone and keep the flame well away from anything flammable. Test a drip on your own arm or thigh first. Start with the candle held about 3 feet above the body and move closer as you learn the temperature. Blow out the flame before pouring to reduce splashing, layer drops on the same spot to build intensity, and rub your hand over fresh drops to spread the heat.

Clean-up: once it cools, lift the wax off with a plastic card or another flat scraper, or turn removal into part of the scene with a few well-placed spanks. A class or a trusted guide is a great way to learn wax play safely.

Why drip candles and not any old candle: household candles, especially beeswax, scented or soy blends, can burn much hotter than you expect. Drip candles like these are made with a lower melting point so the wax lands warm, not scalding, and the bright colors make every drop part of the show.

Where to drip: backs, shoulders, chests, bellies and thighs are the classic canvas. Skip the face, hair, genitals and any broken or sensitive skin. A light coat of massage oil first makes peeling the cooled wax off easier.
