A slim tip concentrates the strike into a small area, so accuracy matters and a cushion is the right place to practise. Twenty inches is short enough to use in a confined space, which is the other half of why the travel note matters. Keep strikes to the backside and thighs, away from the spine, kidneys and neck. Wipe the leather down after use and store it straight rather than curled in a bag.

Full length crops are thirty inches or more and do not fit in anything you would take on a plane. Building a proper crop at twenty inches is a real design constraint, and this is the one in the range that travels.
