Drag the fur side across skin between strikes, which is what makes this a teasing tool rather than only an impact one, and save the smooth face for when you want the contrast. Keep strikes to the backside and thighs, away from the spine, kidneys and tailbone. Brush the fur rather than washing it, wipe the faux leather face down after a session, and store it flat so neither face takes a curl.

A padded and unpadded paddle gives you hard and slightly less hard. Fur against faux leather is a much bigger gap, and the moment of switching between them is usually more effective than either side on its own.
