Fourteen and a half inches long, an inch and a quarter wide, with fur on one face and black leather on the other. Narrow and long is a different tool from broad and short: the width concentrates the strike rather than spreading it.

The fur face is for dragging across skin between strikes, which is most of what makes this a teasing tool rather than a blunt one. Turn it over for the leather. Keep strikes on the backside and the thighs, well away from the spine, kidneys and tailbone, and build up gradually. Brush the fur rather than washing it, wipe the leather side down after a session, and store it flat so neither face warps.

Two sided paddles usually pair leather with padding, which gives you hard and slightly less hard. Pairing it with fur gives you sensation and impact in the same hand, and the switch between the two is the whole scene.
